Fun with Gouache Fungi

Class Date: Saturday, June 8th

Class Time: 10am – 12pm

Gouache (pronounced 'gwash', like squash) is opaque watercolor used to make vibrant, matte paintings. It is often described as feeling like a mix between watercolor and acrylic paint and it is super fun to work with!

This beginner friendly workshop will introduce you to working with gouache while painting mushrooms in a sketchbook!

Get ready to learn new techniques, follow step-by-step instructions, and discover helpful tips and tricks for painting with gouache. By the end, you'll leave with new skills and supplies to continue your gouache painting journey at home!

About the Instructor:

Roxsy Lin is a Venezuelan Author/illustrator based in Los Angeles. She grew up in a tiny town called Merida, where she used to sneak into her Abuelo’s poetry reading group. Every new word she learned filled her heart with joy and wonder. That’s why she studied journalism and fell in love with libraries. Roxsy is committed to sharing the stories of her community, especially those of the underrepresented immigrant Latina women. For her, representation matters. Creators like Yuyi Morales, Juana Martinez-Neal, and Zara González-Hoang have inspired her to pursue her career. Now, she’s living her dream.
